There's a canopy bed in a room in Tribeca that Agnes concocted, outright paranormal in its nature. Paintings too! The bed is held together using magic spells to bypass the physics of conventional assembly, possessed rather than nailed together. Feral and angelic energies power heavenly decoration systems. This constellation of graphic motifs brings to mind a 24-hour diner in a secret room of a Venetian basilica. It's not an antique from a castle—it was spat out during a redeye vacation to New York, where Agnes rarely visits. The 2-dimensionality of the work shifts the crafty, regal, and allegorical subject matter through a postmodern economic reprocessing. The thinness of its markered paper fuselage gives it a mastered perfection. Any thinner and it simply wouldn't be.
